taken outside my front door, 4 floors up, my downstairs neighbours' childrens' shoes. note the odd number. my hand was shaking with the excitement.
i like the tiny shoes on a bed of plastic flowers. another project in the pipeline: aural diary of the estate where i live (that's a project, not a vast swathe of rolling green topped with a mansion). to include: r kelly, turkish pop, boom bye-bye, competing car stereos, bicycles being stolen, cycle cops (whose bikes bear the legends POLICE and SMITH & WESSON), eight-year-old girls waging war on the male of the species, joints and BBQs being lit, lingala, french, kurdish, patois, polish, and evangelical christians.
